As compensation has been made available to people who have been waiting for three years for a decision on whether their homes are safe, employment is only on the rise. “It’s absolute chaos at the moment,” says Menze Nijborg, co-owner and consultant at Bengs, based in Ten Post. “Our clientele is mainly in Groningen, Friesland and Drenthe. That’s why we can simply drive out to all our customers from Ten Post,” Menze continues. “We’re really being swept along by the rush. People are happy just to receive a quote.”

A thriving family business

Menze has years of sales experience at the company of which he is now a co-owner. Menze’s father started the business with a partner in 2006. Now, both his mother and he himself are indispensable to the family business. “You put up with more from each other; you tell the truth to your family. Yet, outside working hours, we always manage to talk about work quite easily,” says Menze.

Given his work experience, Menze therefore prefers to see himself as a consultant or account manager. Yet there are more than enough other tasks on his plate. In addition to a host of commercial matters, such as taking on jobs and drawing up proposals, his responsibilities include the buses used by all staff, investments in the company, existing customers and more.

Work more efficiently with OutSmart’s online work orders

Around five years ago, Bengs launched the Work Order App; the ultimate way to move away from paper work orders and manage everything online. When it emerged that TrackJack could also be integrated with OutSmart – as the company has been known since 2020 – the new buses were immediately fitted with the journey recording system.

Menze explains: “Drivers are given a lot of personal responsibility at Bengs. They all have an iPad with both the OutSmart and TrackJack apps installed. With the OutSmart app, they can track and monitor their jobs, and the planning team knows exactly what the status of each assignment is. With the TrackJack app, drivers can track their journeys and mark them as private where necessary. They are personally responsible for avoiding additional tax liability.”

The OutSmart and TrackJack integration also makes it possible to view vehicles live on the planning board. This allows work to be carried out from a single application.

 

“Who is nearby in the event of a fault at the customer’s premises?”

The planning team makes extensive use of the buses’ locations on the map. “It’s ideal in the event of faults at customers’ premises. If a barrier won’t lift, we naturally need to get there as quickly as possible. We can see exactly who’s nearby and what job they’re working on.”

Menze concludes: “We’re satisfied, including with the service. Now that the link between OutSmart and TrackJack is fully integrated, everything is running smoothly.”
