J. de Jonge BV calls itself ‘The Next Gen Connectors’. The ideal partner in the field of mechanical engineering, new construction, maintenance and renovation of complete systems for liquids and gases between carriers and (tank terminal) installations. They link the entire chain of services together. And for both the Dutch and Belgian branches of J. de Jonge, the entire fleet is connected to the office via TrackJack’s GPS tracker.
The company, which originally came into being through the development of loading arms capable of transferring oil and liquids from ships, has since become a full-service supplier. In addition to loading arms, they provide pumps, maintenance, tank storage, construction and a full on-site service. All of this is managed from Vlaardingen.
“We can extract a lot of information from it when necessary”
“We’re growing. We’re constantly expanding. We’re now approaching 700 employees,” says the office coordinator at J de Jonge BV. Managing the mileage records for the 67 vehicles, all of which are now fitted with TrackJack, is entirely the responsibility of this department.
“It’s often the very practical aspects that are really useful to us. Because every driver can log in to their own account, they can monitor themselves to ensure they don’t drive more than 500 kilometres for private use. We do this primarily with a view to the additional tax liability and the tax authorities. At the same time, it’s very handy when we want to know where a car has been, for example if there’s been damage or a problem on site.”

Journey logging for staff
J de Jonge BV has an agreement with Ford. This means that all vehicles used by project managers, work planners, sales staff and office staff who require transport are Fords. “It is mainly the project managers for whom we need to keep track of the journey logs,” says the front office.
“It’s all running smoothly and does exactly what it’s supposed to.
We can extract a lot of information from it when needed, so that’s perfect.”
Customer service and planning
Because there are so many cars on the road with TrackJack, there is regular contact with customer service or the planning department. “They always respond quickly to queries, and I’m always treated kindly and professionally.” This might involve updating a registration number or mileage, extending the service, or clarifying something that isn’t entirely clear.
