Alfons van Gasselt has been working at De Kabath vastgoedbeheer bv, dKVb, for 14 years. The company specialises in the management of temporarily vacant properties throughout the Netherlands. This does not only include houses and offices. Castles, monasteries, schools and prisons are also managed by dKVb. And all journeys made by the company’s cars are automatically recorded by TrackJack’s GPS vehicle tracking systems.
Alfons is Head of Operations for the whole of the Netherlands. This means that, together with the team, he manages properties and thereby protects them against burglary, metal theft, vandalism and even squatting, amongst other things. “The great thing is that no two days are the same. I’m not cut out to sit behind a desk all day.” And at dKVb, you don’t just deal with standard properties such as houses, flats and office buildings, but also everything from a prison in Maastricht, to an old naval base in Den Helder, right up to managing a beautiful hotel where everything is still intact and in perfect condition. “Those are the proverbial ‘candy shops’.”
The management of the TrackJack tracking systems also falls under Alfons’s responsibility; he started with TrackJack PRO Tax in 2019. “It started with an initial quote, after which the choice quickly fell on TrackJack. We looked at other systems, but then we would have had to hire an IT specialist to get to grips with them. TrackJack’s online environment was clear and transparent, and above all user-friendly. Especially after the live demo and online video that were sent to us.”

Attractive passenger cars are used for staff, and additional tax liability is paid for all of them. “Nevertheless, we wanted to have a clear overview of the entire fleet.” There are now 10 cars fitted with the journey recording system, and that number is growing steadily.
“Within our company, we enjoy a great deal of freedom when it comes to managing our own schedules. You do need to be able to handle this freedom, though. By now, everyone knows it’s there, and that does create a bit of a placebo effect.”

At dKVb, we use the ‘Highest Speeds’ widget as well as the ‘Green Driving Index’. This gives us a clear picture of who is driving efficiently and sustainably. We also use the MTC fuel card (Multi Tank Card). It’s ideal for gaining more insight into fuel consumption and CO2 emissions.
Finally, Alfons adds that contact with customer service is excellent. “We get in touch from time to time. When a registration number is changed, a system is renewed, or we have questions.”
