Van Mourik Bouw specialises in non-residential construction, restoration and high-end construction throughout the Netherlands. They have been using track and trace systems since 2018, initially for tracking trailers. Over the past two years, the entire fleet of 18 vehicles has now been fitted with journey recording systems.
As executive secretary, Joline van Haarlem is responsible for the fleet at Van Mourik Bouw. Ms van Haarlem manages the journey logging and produces monthly reports. “All employees have signed an agreement allowing them to drive a maximum of 500 km for private use per year, and with the journey logging system, we want to relieve them of the burden of manually recording their mileage.”
“We use TrackJack to take the pressure off our employees, but we also use the system to check whether someone is already on the road.”
“We don’t feel like just a number at all”
You think along with us
Joline is the only person who manages the mileage tracking at Van Mourik Bouw. “We’ve decided that employees don’t need to use the app and so can’t make any changes themselves. If anything needs adjusting, such as the mileage, they let me know. Our experience with TrackJack has always been positive. The great thing about you is that you always think along with us; that’s one of your strengths. We don’t feel like just a number at all.”
Refuelling, mileage and CO2 emissions
Van Mourik Bouw is working hard to improve its quality and environmental management system and to comply with ISO 9001 and 14001 certification. “We are
currently in the process of renewing our fleet. Every quarter, we analyse the figures for average CO2 emissions per vehicle based on refuelling and mileage. We have a number of older buses, which push up the average CO2 emissions.
To bring the figures down, new buses will soon be replacing the older ones. “But to reduce fuel consumption even further, a Green Driving feature would be of interest,” says Van Mourik, referring to the implementation of Green Driving that TrackJack is currently working on.
This makes it possible not only to track drivers’ journey logs but also to provide insight into driving behaviour.
Would you also like to be relieved of the burden of keeping track of journey logs?
We’d be happy to tell you about the possibilities and help you get started.
