Whilst many businesses are struggling to find new customers during the coronavirus pandemic, this snack specialist from Eindhoven is actually experiencing a surge in business. With restaurants closed, people are eating at home more often. And that means Plaza Jagershoef’s delivery vans and bikes are clocking up the miles.

Following 11 excellent tips in ‘Snackkoerier’ – one of which was our GPS tracking solution – TrackJack got in touch with Theo van Gemert, co-owner of Plaza Jagershoef; the place for luxury chips with the best toppings.

Hugo van Wandelen and Theo van Gemert have gained a great deal of experience in recent years with their delivery service for chips and snacks. Due to the growth in the delivery sector at the time, they started out five years ago with a delivery van and two electric bikes. 

There are now three vehicles equipped with TrackJack PRO Tax 2 and ‘Live Tracking’ operating in the Eindhoven region.

Top quality is paramount

“Chips are a delicate product. If I prepare an order on a warming tray, it doesn’t benefit the quality of the products. So I don’t believe in that. The order must go into the van hot, so that it arrives at the customer’s in top condition. That’s why we use TrackJack.”

“In some cases, a delivery driver might need a bit more time. A customer having trouble paying, a lift that’s slow, or other delays. I now know exactly when a car is on its way, so I can make sure everything is ready right on time.”

Ideal use in practice

“We’re not the sort of business owners who watch the frikandels float to the surface,” says Theo.
(Ed.: slang for sitting still and waiting. As soon as the frikandel floats to the surface of the frying oil, it’s ready.)

Behind the counter, two screens are constantly on. One screen where the orders come in, and one screen with the TrackJack map. And with the route planner in the online account, I can also see if multiple orders can be combined.

In addition to GPS tracking, Plaza Jagershoef also uses mileage tracking, which is recorded automatically. And that saves a great deal of time given the large number of journeys made each day.
