Why is there a difference between the mileage shown on TrackJack and that of my car?

A possible discrepancy may arise because measurements are taken in two different ways. The car measures the mileage via the road surface. The TrackJack measures the mileage via GPS (through the air), which is usually the most accurate method. This can result in a slight difference in mileage. Your tyre pressure, weather conditions and driving behaviour can also cause a difference.

To correct this difference, you can enter a mileage correction. We recommend entering this correction on a regular basis (every 2 to 3 months).

The difference in mileage is, of course, recognised by HM Revenue & Customs and complies with the requirements of the Travel Logging Systems Quality Mark.
