My car is going to the garage – what do I need to bear in mind?

What should you do with your TrackJack when your vehicle goes to the garage?

Your vehicle needs to visit the garage periodically for servicing, an MOT or a routine check-up. In principle, this should not affect the operation of your TrackJack GPS tracker. However, we advise you to keep the following points in mind.

  • Tampering
alert You may receive a tampering alert whilst the car is at the garage. For example, the power supply to the vehicle may be disconnected or the OBD connector may be removed (or the entire TrackJack GO!). You will be notified of this via email and/or the app.
It is very important that the garage reinstalls the TrackJack after servicing.

  • Check that it is working
Check via the app or your online account whether your TrackJack is still transmitting locations or recording journeys once you have collected the vehicle. Are you not receiving any location updates? Then the GPS tracker may not have been re-installed correctly.

  • Contact the garage or our customer
service Ask the garage if they have reinstalled the system. You can also check whether you can see a loose wire or even a TrackJack hanging near the pedals of your car.
If this is not the case, please call our customer service to see if we can connect to the tracker remotely. To do so, please call 010 8200 190.
